Official Alpha Build Released by Sony Ericsson

If Sony Ericsson is trying to convince us that they skinned version of Android 2.1 Eclair better than Android 2.2 Froyo, and so an upgrade to Froyo vanilla actually downgrade? Then PR nightmare, we were all surprised, as the Gingerbread released Android 2.3 for the X10 in a relatively timely manner.

On behalf of Sony Ericsson's development team, a member of the KalleD XDA forum is officially the alpha version of Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 to Xperia Arc S, Ray Xperia and Xperia unlock Neo-V devices to build. With this release, Sony Ericsson has developed the first non-smartphone Nexus OEM supplier to offer a legitimate Android (although alpha) 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade! What we have come a long way.

We have just released a blog post http://developer.sonyericsson.com/wp ... Phone Xperia / announce that we have created an Alpha-ROM ICs are available to users with an excellent technical skills. This means that you have a locked bootloader http://unlockbootloader.sonyericsson.com and knowledge between the different ROM (read our blog post for further rejection;)-switch). Also note that the software was released only valid for the Xperia S arcs, Xperia ™ and the Xperia ™ Neo V ray. Xperia arc will not work because it has a different partition layout.

ICS Alpha officially released? This is almost too good to be true for us early adopters. As this moves the first time Sony Ericsson like this, the best interests of each has taken to leave constructive feedback to ensure that this software is in the future. Hopefully other providers could follow.
